Miranda Knight is a mosaic artist, who specialises in using stained glass in her original, contemporary fine art mosaics. Mosaic has a rich history of over 3,000 years and the ancient mosaics from around the world have inspired and motivated her interpretation of the art form.Mosaic is an art form which uses small pieces of materials placed together to create and united whole. The materials commonly used are marble or other stone, glass, pottery, mirror or foil-backed glass, or shells.Miranda used stained glass to explore colour which allows the mosaic surface to have a rich vibrant sparkle. This encourages interplays of shadow and reflections that enhance Miranda's original designs. Miranda's mosaic design is inspired by and, represents the themes of love, design, pattern and texture.Miranda is based in Bristol and currently exhibits around the UK. She welcomes new and interesting commissions to work on.
